With reference to vour Savinoram No. 479

of 12th May and paragraph 5 of my telegram No. 1079 of 21 20th September, 1950, I enclose a memorandum dealing in

greater detail with the disposal of the stores allocated for delivery to Hong Kong during the British Military Administration.

2.

It is regretted that in the absence of detailed particulars of shipments, and owing to the impossibility of closely correlating stock records compiled by a constantlv changing staff which had little information as to costs and War Office designations of many items, it has been possible only to endorse the War Office lists, which are now returned, in the manner described in the memorandum.
